Delete Your Account

Overview
You can request deletion of your Insect ID Lens account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, how to start the process, and how long it takes. We provide this option in line with the account-deletion requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Option 1 — Delete from within the app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the app:
- Open Insect ID Lens and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings.
- Select Delete account.
- Confirm the request. Your account and associated data will be scheduled for permanent deletion.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, you may request deletion by email:
- Send an email to support.customer.dev@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account.
- Use the subject line: "Delete my account".
- Include any details that help us locate your account (for example, the username you registered with).
We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request to protect your account from unauthorized deletion. We will complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying your request.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account profile (email address, username, and login credentials)
- Photos, images, and metadata you uploaded to the Application
- Your identification history and saved collection
- Support correspondence tied to your account, where no longer required
What data may be retained
We may retain a limited subset of data when required to:
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations
- Resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms of Use
- Honor records of transactions processed by Apple or Google (we do not store payment details ourselves)
Any retained data is kept only for as long as necessary for these purposes and is then deleted or anonymized.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. In-app subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. To cancel a subscription, manage it from your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings before deleting your account.
